Offering six undergraduate degrees, 32 undergraduate teaching certificates, six masters degrees, two educational specialist degrees, and two doctoral degrees. The University of Missouri–St. Louis' College of Education prepares students for jobs not only in schools, but additionally in museums, zoos, nonprofit youth serving organizations, businesses, government agencies, national education organizations and art foundations.

Our students learn from one of the finest faculties in the country, which includes 70 full-time faculty, 14 endowed professors and three Curator’s Teaching Professors, as well as over 120 part-time faculty members with years of direct classroom experience. Our Counseling and Family Therapy Program is ranked fifth in the nation. 

UMSL strategically partners with agencies, schools, businesses and institutions to help students take advantage of local education opportunities. By reaching out and partnering with a vast array of educational, business and community resources, the College of Education provides opportunities for faculty and students to develop professional connections for improving their careers as well as their communities.

What UMSL has to offer

Regularly available for student guidance and support, the College of Education's Office of Advising and Student Services (OASIS) offers students an unmatched resource for the planning, development and execution of their degree or degrees in education.

At the undergraduate level, the College of Education offers a BES, a BFA and a BSEd with emphasis areas in every major academic content field. The College of Education also offers post-graduate licensure in the areas of art education, early childhood education, elementary education, middle school education, music education, secondary education and special education. At the graduate level, UMSL offers the MEd, MME, an EdS in Educational Administration and a PhD in Philosophy of Education. Professional learning courses and programs, such as Teach for America and off-campus credit courses are also available.
