UMSL Faculty and Programs
UMSL has 46 undergraduate, 30 master’s and 14 doctoral degrees, including the state’s only professional degree in optometry.
UMSL students can chose among a variety of academic emphasis areas in which to pursue their degrees, including:
- 89 undergraduate academic emphasis areas
- 73 graduate academic emphasis options
- 30 doctoral emphasis choices
UMSL also offers seven pre-professional programs, 28 graduate certificate programs and two education specialist programs.
Our faculty members are consistently recognized for being among the best in the United States in a number of disciplines.
And "diversity" isn't just a buzzword at UMSL. It's an attribute. African-Americans comprise 10 percent of university faculty, and women make up 48 percent of our full-time faculty. Both percentages are above the respective national averages.
