Course Objectives

This course is a survey of the technical as well as business/management aspects of modern distributed computing environments.  Client-Server Computing does not refer to any particular hardware or software technology, rather it refers to a particular paradigm of distributed computing.  This course will cover the major building blocks of contemporary distributed applications, middleware services, Web Services, mobile computing platforms, eCommerce/eBusiness platforms, component-based architectures, and enterprise application integration. Numerous real-life case studies and examples will be employed to highlight the key points.  Specific topics covered include:

Course Evaluation

Students will be assigned a letter grade for this course based on their performance on two written exams.. Each exam will contribute 50% toward the final score. Letter grades will be assigned for the final weighted score.
