The Current is a student-run newspaper that reports on University news and issues. The Current provides excellent experience for students who are interested in working in print media. The only requirements for working on the paper are being a UMSL student and having initiative. Senior staff positions are paid; and new reporters are always welcome.

The Monday Noon Cultural Series, offered by the Center for the Humanities, consists of twelve to thirteen Monday programs each semester held from 12:15-1:15 p.m. The Series presents a diverse array of talent and expertise, with speakers from a wide range of ethnic, racial, and cultural backgrounds. Subjects range from art and music to politics and social conditions. The series showcases the excellence of our faculty and local experts. All programs are free and open to the public.

The Office of Student Life offers a variety of programs, services, and resources for students to connect with one another and become involved in the learning that takes place outside of the classroom. The University Program Board (UPB) is the student-run programming body at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. UPB sponsors a variety of educational, cultural, and social activities throughout the academic year that are free and open to the UMSL community. Students may apply for executive board positions or volunteer their time as general members to develop and implement programs including contemporary concert presentations, lectures, comedy showcases, and the annual spring carnival Mirthday. Programming is subsidized by student activity fees and student input is always welcome!
