The College of Optometry is located on the South Campus complex. The College is furnished with the newest equipment for teaching and research, operates four (4) centers that offer a full range of optometric services to St. Louisans, and offers the Doctor of Optometry (O.D.).
The curriculum leading to the Doctor of Optometry degree is a four-year, full-time program of study, which combines professional optometric education and clinical experience. Applicants must have completed a minimum of 90 semester or 135 quarter-hours (the equivalent of three years of college education) prior to matriculation and completion of the necessary prerequisite courses. Applicants holding a bachelor's degree will be given preference over applicants with similar academic credentials who do not have a degree.
Interested students may contact the College of Optometry's Office of Student Services for admission information on the Optometry program.
