School of Social Work

Welcome to the School of Social Work at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, a growing school focused on educating leaders of social service agencies in St. Louis and other metropolitan areas.

Although our school is relatively young—our BSW program was accredited in 1979 and our MSW program in 2002—our faculty have gained national and international reputations in social and economic development, child welfare and treatment of addictive behaviors.

We in the School of Social Work are strongly committed to providing accessible, affordable and high quality social work degree programs at the baccalaureate and master’s levels to a diverse and nontraditional student body. We are also committed to carrying out research and scholarship to improve social work knowledge and to providing community service activities that serve to enhance the welfare and well-being of the people in the St. Louis Metropolitan region, the state and other metropolitan areas.

We are pleased that you are interested in social work and in UM-St. Louis. Please visit the other pages of this site to find out more about our excellent faculty and program. If you have additional questions, please let us know.
