Arriving at UMSL
Important! Make sure you request airport pick-up by August 1, 2012!!
If you have turned in the white "Acceptance and Arrival Form" from your admissions packet and have requested to be met at the St. Louis International Airport, please follow these steps after you arrive in St. Louis.
- Find a UMSL representative on the Main Terminal, Lower Level. The UMSL representative will have either a sign with your last (family) name or a sign for the university. If no one is there to greet you, wait at your luggage claim area for staff from the university to find you. Do not take a cab and leave the airport if you have requested that we pick you up. If you have been waiting for 30 minutes or more, go to the Information Desk on the baggage claim level and ask them to page UMSL International Student Services. Someone will come to meet you. If for some reason no one responds to the page, ask them to call the office at 516-5229 (Monday-Friday between the hours of 8 am and 5pm). If you arrive outside the normal office hours, ask them to call the office after hours line at 632-6225. This is a Google Voice number. Please be sure to leave a message if you get the voice mail.
- If no one answers the office phone and you have a room reserved, you can go directly to UMSL Residential Life or the University Meadows during the day between 9am and 4:30pm. Taxis are readily available at designated pickup points. From the Main Terminal, take exit door MT 14 to the Yellow Level in the main garage to find the taxi area. If you are at the East Terminal take exit door ET 12. The exact fare depends on your final destination and will include an Airport Use Fee of $3.00 per pickup. - If you have not made arrangements for someone to meet you at the airport, you will need to contact your housing office to see if you can move in. If they are not open when you arrive or you are unable to move in, you will need to make your own arrangements to stay in a hotel for the night and make your way to campus the next morning. Visit the Reservation Center at the airport located on the lower level of the Main Terminal, near Baggage Claim Carousel M6 for hotel information.
