About NABE
The National Association for Business Economics (NABE) is an association of professionals who have an interest in business economics and who want to use the latest economic data and trends to enhance their ability to make sound business decisions. NABE's mission is to provide leadership in the use and understanding of economics.
NABE is affiliated with many local and student chapters here in the U.S., with other professional economic organizations, and with business economics organizations in other countries. UMSL is one of the few schools to have student affiliation with National NABE (http://www.nabe.com/students).
About the UMSL NABE Chapter
The purpose of our student chapter of NABE is to promote interaction outside of the classroom among students sharing a common interest in economics. Our chapter was founded in 1993 by a former student, Grant Black (B.S. Economics, 1992; M.A. Economics, 1994) and is a recognized student chapter of National NABE. In the past, our student chapter has invited outside speakers and sponsored economics seminars. NABE also sponsors the Department of Economics Picnic. This is an annual event, held early in the fall semester, where students, alumni and faculty can enjoy an afternoon of barbeque and fun. Another NABE sponsored event is Career Day - an event where alumni return to campus and meet with current students.
