Byron Price resigned as the executive director of the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody, Wyoming, this past August. Price, who was the BBHC’s director for five years, has accepted the directorship of the Charles M. Russell Center for the Study of Art of the American West at the University of Oklahoma, Norman. 

David Weber of Southern Methodist University will spend the next academic year at Harvard University. 

Peter Blodgett has been named the H. Russell Smith Foundation Curator of Western Historical Manuscripts at the Huntington Library. William H. Goetzmann of the University of Texas at Austin received a Bookend Award for lifetime achievement at the sixth annual Texas Book Festival. 

Paul A. Hutton begins his two-year term as President of Western Writers of America at the WWA annual conference in Wichita in June.

W.T. Jackson prize winner Susan L. Johnson has accepted a position in the History department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
