Please read the call for papers at the WHA web site prior to submitting your proposal. The Committee encourages various kinds of sessions – works in progress, round tables, workshops, performances, in addition to formal panels. Please consider thinking outside of the box as you put your proposal together. The Committee encourages individuals to post their interests/requests on H-west when looking for others to fill out a proposal. The Committee’s ability to construct sessions out of individual ideas will be limited (and such committee-constructed programs rarely are as good as those put together by participants, because they tend to be too random and stretched). When you are ready to submit, please email a single cover sheet; a program proposal (500 words or less); individual contribution abstracts (200 words or less); and individual resumes of not more than one page. Please also give a descriptive title (For example: “Round table on Writing Biography” or “Workshop on Teaching the Western History Survey” or “Panel on Mexican-American Civil Rights in Texas, 1890-1945,” “Dueling Films: White Women and Indian Men,” etc.) Please email the proposal as a single plain text email, or a single MS Word document attachment. Competed proposals should be emailed to: WHA06-PROGRAM-COMMITTEE@listserv.nd.edu Please do not send questions or queries to the WHA06 Program Committee e-mail. Instead, if you have questions about your proposal, you may contact either of the Program Committee Program Chairs: Annette Atkins or Marc Rodriguez . If you have specific field-related questions, you may contact the committee field specialists. Questions should be sent as soon as possible to ensure that you receive a response prior to the proposal submission deadline. CLICK HERE FOR COVER SHEET INFO Download
