Presenter Guidelines:
Please send your paper and vita to the session chair and commentators as early as possible.  Please do not send vitae or papers to the program chairs or to the WHA office.

Sessions at the WHA are ninety minutes long, so you should apportion your time carefully to give equal opportunity to each presenter and commentator, with a chance for audience response.  Below are guidelines for typical sessions.

Sessions with two papers and one comment:
Chair – 10 minutes
Paper – 20 minutes
Paper – 20 minutes
Comment – 20 minutes
Audience – 20 minutes

Sessions with three papers and one comment:

Comment – 15 minutes
Audience – 20 minutes

Round table participants should confine their prepared comments to 12 minutes, in order to allow ample time for discussion among panelists and audience.

These are only suggestions.  You may work out your own division of time, but the chair is responsible for ensuring the session begins and ends on time with all presenters having adequate time.

  Conference Programs:
All participants, members and non-members should receive a copy of the program and registration materials sometime in August.  Everyone attending the conference is required to register.  (Program and registration information is also posted on line.)
  WHA Membership:
Unlike, many professional organizations, we do not require conference participants to be members, but we think this annual meeting will introduce you to an exciting organization that you will wish to join if you are not already a member.
Click here to explore our membership benefits and download a membership application.
Reserve A.V. Equipment:   AV Requests are due by September 1, 2005.
If you need AV equipment, please email your request by September 1.  The subject line of your email should refer to AV Needs.

Your email must include your name, session name, day and time, and the equipment you are requesting.  We will notify you quickly if any aspect of your request cannot be fulfilled.

Although the WHA endorses the utilization of modern technology and recognizes its importance for certain types of presentations, please restrict requests for equipment to that which is essential.

Equipment that can be made available:
Carousel Slide Projector
Overhead Projector (for transparencies)
Cassette Tape Player
