The Third View Project: A Rephotographic Survey of the American West
Mark Klett, Arizona State University

"Working with historic photographs has led me to explore the ways that photography seems to fold and unfold time. The camera is a very practical tool for visualizing our perceptions of space, time and change. I will show recent projects involving historic photographs, works that were inspired by an interest in changing landscapes. These are collaborative  projects that use various methods and media. The subject images range from nineteenth and twentieth century western surveys, to photos of urban catastrophes. The photographs occupy points of intersection between land, culture and art."  -Mark Klett
