PRESENTER GUIDELINES:

Please send your paper and vita to the session chair and commentators by September 1.  Please do not send vitae or papers to the program chairs or to the WHA office.  If you do not already have contact information for these individuals, please contact either your session organizer or the WHA office.

Sessions at the WHA are ninety minutes long, so you should apportion your time carefully to give equal opportunity to each presenter and commentator, with a chance for audience response.  Below are guidelines for typical sessions.
Sessions with two papers and one comment:
Chair – 10 minutes
Paper – 20 minutes
Paper – 20 minutes
Comment – 20 minutes
Audience – 20 minutes

Comment – 15 minutes
Audience – 20 minutes
These are only suggestions.  You may work out your own division of time, but the chair is responsible for ensuring the session begins and ends on time with all presenters having adequate time.

Round table participants should confine their prepared comments to 12 minutes, in order to allow ample time for discussion among panelists and audience.

CONFERENCE PROGRAMS:
All participants, members and non-members, will recieve a copy of the program and registration materials in early August.  Everyone attending the conference is required to register.  Please be sure to notify the WHA office of any address changes before July 15 to ensure that you will receive registration materials in a timely manner.

WHA MEMBERSHIP:
Unlike, many professional organizations, we do not require conference participants to be members, but we think this annual meeting will introduce you to an exciting organization that you will wish to join if you are not already a member. Click here for membership information.

RESERVE A.V. EQUIPMENT
Please complete the following A/V request forms for your session.  We will notify you quickly if any aspect of your request cannot be fulfilled.  Although the WHA endorses the utilization of modern technology and recognizes its importance for certain types of presentations, please restrict requests for equipment to that which is essential.

Even if you have made a verbal request or sent an email earlier than July 1, it is recommended that you submit this form to ensure that we have your request processed.

Deadline for reserving AV equipment is September 1, 2003.

Please call me at 505-277-5234 or email lindakay@umsl.edu if you have any questions about the conference, registration, a.v. equipment, or WHA membership.
