GUIDELINES:
Please send your paper and vita
to the session chair and commentators by September 1. Please
do not send vitae or papers to the program chairs or to the WHA office.
If you do not already have contact information for these individuals, please
contact either your session organizer or the WHA office.
Sessions at the WHA are
ninety minutes long, so you should apportion your time carefully to give
equal opportunity to each presenter and commentator, with a chance for
audience response. Below are guidelines for typical sessions.
Sessions with two
papers and one comment:
Chair – 10 minutes
Paper – 20 minutes
Paper – 20 minutes
Comment – 20 minutes
Audience – 20 minutes |
Session with two papers
and two comments:
Chair – 10 minutes
Paper – 20 minutes
Paper – 20 minutes
Comment – 10 minutes

Sessions with three
papers and one comment:
Chair – 10 minutes
Paper – 15 minutes
Paper – 15 minutes

These are only suggestions.
You may work out your own division of time, but the chair is responsible
for ensuring the session begins and ends on time with all presenters having
adequate time.
Round table participants should confine
their prepared comments to 12 minutes, in order to allow ample time for
discussion among panelists and audience.
CONFERENCE
PROGRAMS:
All participants, members and non-members,
will recieve a copy of the program and registration materials in early
August. Everyone attending the conference is required to register.
Please be sure to notify the WHA office of any address changes before July
15 to ensure that you will receive registration materials in a timely manner.

MEMBERSHIP:
Unlike, many professional
organizations, we do not require conference participants to be members,
but we think this annual meeting will introduce you to an exciting organization
that you will wish to join if you are not already a member.
