1This program schedule is for those individuals who want to graduate with a B.S. in Education and Biology as an endorsement area. Other teacher certification in life science options include obtaining a B.S. or a B.A. in Biology with teacher certification, Post-Degree Graduate teaching certification (5000 or 6000 course options), Temporary Teacher Certification, or the Career Transition Program must consult with a science education advisor in the Department of Biology. Please call (314) 516-6226 for information or an appointment.

2Students in this program must have advisors in both Education Teacher Certification (516-5937) and in Biology Education (516-6220). Students are responsible for determining and meeting all state, University, College, and Departmental requirements for teacher certification.

3Specific laboratory courses are optional but teacher certification candidates must have a miminum of 5 laboratory courses in biology including the introductory courses.

4If seeking a Post-Degree Certification you may take 5000 or 6000 level equivalent courses toward the masters degree.

5A mimimum of 36 credit hours in Biology major area of emphasis.

6Course requirements must be completed prior to student teaching. Student teaching interns should not take courses other than Seminar 4999 or work during the student teaching experience.
