(Instructor of Euphonium, Trombone & Tuba)
Originally from Athens, Georgia Gerry Pagano started playing his fathers trombone at age 11. He studied Music Education at the University of Ga. and later completed his Bachelors and Masters from the Juilliard School, in New York City. In 1987 he won an audition with the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra, a position he held for 8 seasons, until winning the Bass Trombone spot in the St. Louis Symphony in 1995.
Along the way, he has performed with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, Boston Symphony at Tanglewood, Teton Music Festival, as well as such shows as Chorus Line, Annie, Bob Hope, Johnny Mathis, Sammy Davis Jr., and many others. He performs regularly with a Brass Quintet from the St. Louis Symphony, all across the St. Louis region. He lives in Des Peres Missouri with his wife and daughter. This is his second year teaching low brass at UMSL.
