John McGrosso

(Associate Professor of Music, Violin)

John McGrosso has performed as soloist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, of which he was a member from 1992 to 1999. He received his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in music performance from Juillard and holds a Performer´s Certificate from Northern Illinois University. His teachers include Dorothy Delay, Shmuel Ashkenasi, Joyce Robbins, and Gerald Beal. Additional experiences include chamber music studies with members of the Juilliard, Tokyo, and Vermeer Quartets.

Past collegiate teaching appointments include UM-Columbia, Illinois Wesleyan University, and Eastern Michigan University. Mr. McGrosso is a member of the Arianna String Quartet, in residence at the University of Missouri - St. Louis.
