Flute
Jennifer Garrison Brown holds a Bachelors in Music Education and Flute Performance from The University of North Texas and a Masters of Flute Performance from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She is currently the Director of Bands of Washington Middle School in the Mehlville School District, where she has received numerous honors and awards, including their distinction as the 2004 MMEA Middle School Honor Band, throughout her tenure there.
Ms. Brown has performed in master classes for Marzio Conti, Goran Marcusson, Clare Southworth, Kathleen Chastain, Tadeu Coehlo and Jeanne Baxtresser. Her flute teachers have included Jan Smith, Terri Sundberg and Jennifer Nitchman.
Ms. Brown joined the faculty of University of Missouri-St. Louis in the Spring of 2003. She maintains a private studio as well as an active performance schedule. Her professional affiliations include Sigma Alpha Iota, The National Flute Association, The Flute Society of Saint Louis, The Texas Flute Society, the Missouri Music Educators Association and the Texas Music Educators Association.
