Vivian Eveloff, Institute Founder and Director
Vivian Eveloff has been the director of the Institute for Women in Public Life at the University of Missouri-St. Louis since its creation in 1996. Prior to assuming this position, she was a public policy professional at Washington University, the Monsanto Company and in her own consulting firm. She was also Director, Spokesmanship for Monsanto and provided professional speakers training to other corporations and non-profit organizations.

In the St. Louis community, Vivian was a founder of the Metro St. Louis Women's Political Caucus and went on to Chair the organization at the local and state levels. She also helped launch the Missouri Women's Action Fund which helped to elect more Missouri women at the state and federal levels. She has worked with local governments and advocacy groups for diverse issues from the arts to daycare and zoning as part of her commitment to enhancing the quality of life in the area.

Dayna Stock, Manager, St. Louis
Dayna Stock is manager of the Sue Shear Institute for Women in Public Life and director of the 21st Century Leadership Academy.  Prior to joining the Institute, she worked as an Education Specialist for the Chicago Field Office of ACT, Inc. (formerly American College Testing).  Since 2003, Dayna has served as the public member on the Missouri State Board of Optometry, and was elected the Board’s first public member president in 2005-2006.  She is a member of the Community Advisory Council for the Missouri State University Department of Communications, and chairs an allocations panel for the United Way of Greater St. Louis. 

Dayna holds a B.S. in communications from Missouri State University, and a master's degree in public policy administration from UM- St. Louis, where she is pursuing a Ph.D. in political science.  Dayna has been a lecturer in political science at Washington University and UM-St. Louis, and is a sought-after speaker on the topics of women in politics, women’s leadership and electoral campaigns.

Julie Warm, Ph.D., Manager, Kansas City
Julie Warm has extensive experience in local government, non-profit management, and higher education administration. She originally trained as a city planner and city manager and served in those capacities in Ohio, Nevada, and Missouri. Her last position was as City Manager in Reno, Nevada. For the last 20 years, she has worked in academe as a community liaison, administrator, and researcher. Dr. Warm’s academic preparation focused on organizational drivers for social entrepreneurship. She is an advocate for people with disabilities and currently serves on the Board for the Jackson County Board of Services for the Developmentally Disabled, a county-level funding agency.

Cynthia Beckmann, Manager, Kansas City
Cynthia Beckmann has recently joined the staff of UMKC’s Institute for Human Development as the Assistant to the Director. She is excited to be involved with the partnership between the Sue Shear Institute and UMKC. Cindy has employment experience in non-profit, religious, arts, and higher-education settings. She has a Master of Music Degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has completed the coursework and exams for an Education Doctorate, also from Illinois. Cindy is an active volunteer with her church and various community organizations. She is married and has three children.

Rhiannon Reynolds, Administrative Aide, St. Louis
Rhiannon Reynolds was recently hired as the Institute’s Administrative Aide.  Rhiannon is the editor of the Institute’s website and assistant editor of the Institute’s newsletter, Woman Watch.  She earned her BA in English and Political Science from the University of Missouri-Columbia.    Rhiannon previously worked at the State Historical Society of Missouri as an Information Specialist and in the Pagination Department of the Belleville News-Democrat.  The mother of a four-year-old son, Rhiannon has been involved with fundraising efforts for local schools as well as breast cancer research.
