Andres F. Rengifo, Assistant Professor
Andres F. Rengifo received his Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from the City University of New York (CUNY) Graduate Center - John Jay College in 2007. His research focuses primarily on communities and crime, emphasizing the linkages between neighborhood effects, social networks, and informal controls. Andres' current areas of interest include the study of incarceration and reentry using network simulations as well as the development of a network-based approach to measure local processes of social integration.
Andres is also interested in studying how criminal justice policies are developed and implemented across time and space. Recently he co-authored a report focusing on the relationship between state sentencing policies and incarceration rates. He is currently a co-Prinicipal Investigator in an NIJ-funded evaluation of a statewide drug-treatment program in Kansas. In his former capacity as Senior Researcher at the Vera Institute of Justice, he participated in similar projects at the state and county levels.
Andres serves as the CCJ Webmaster.
